Fourth Grade
4th grade expectation is:
At least 100 points within the school year, students receive their first AR tag at 100 AR points.
25 Non-fiction books read every trimester, which will be part of the student's Language Arts grade and overall reading grade (with 85% correct on quiz or higher).
Transitioning from chapter books to novels.
At least 3 or 4 AR tests a week.
Maintaining at least an 85% or higher average on their AR quizzes and reaching 100% their trimester AR goal (both the average percent correct and AR goal will be part of the student's Language Arts grade and overall reading grade).
AR App
There is an AR App to help find AR information. The app allows you to scan the bar code on the book with your iPhone or Android smart phone, which then brings up the book level and points the book is worth.
Library night is on Thursday nights from 5:00-7:00 PM, students can check out books and take AR quizzes in the computer lab.
Dear Parents and Guardians: We are updating or rules for Computer Lab/ Library Nights on Thursdays. The purpose of the AR program is to instill good reading habits in students. Therefore we will limit the number of books that can be checked out and quizzes that can be taken in one evening to 4 books. If students do take more, the teacher may delete those quizzes. Please make sure that your children are choosing challenging books that they can read and reread thoughtfully before quizzing. Thank you for your support with these changes. Computer Lab rules for Thursday evenings are as follows:
